Only Three Days..... and I AM GETTING SICK!

All the many miles of training, the lost sleep, the changed schedules, and the sweaty clothes are all coming down to this one event - The Soldier Marathon.  I can't believe it is only 3 days away, but even more so, I can't believe my sinuses are starting to act up.  Really????

Last night and this morning my throat started to hurt.  This is not a good sign.  This is usually the start of a really kicker sinus infection or messed up tonsils.  I usually can slow this type of sickness or even stop it by getting out and running to get the blood pumping and all the passages all cleared out, but I have one small problem...... I can't run, because it is taper time!

Please, please, please!

  1. If you go to a doctor first thing tomorrow, you can probably get started on a Z-Pak to fight it off. Otherwise, I have found Naked Juice to be awesome at fighting things off. I was just at the doctor Monday, had a 101.4 fever that night, and feel pretty good tonight.

  2. I have had a couple scares like that during marathon training. Fortunately in my case a it was likely caused by not getting enough sleep and couple of nights of extra rest worked. Hope things work out for you Tim.

  3. I'm sure it will clear up in time. I run 5km two days before my long races. This helps to clear the sinuses and keep me sane. Good luck!

  6. I am not a doctor. What I do with symptoms like yours is flush my sinuses with warm salt water and gargle with apple cider vinegar.

  7. Thanks everyone. Today I actually felt worse than last night, however I am starting to feel a bit better now. Hopefully tomorrow I will round that corner. Been getting lots of rest, fluids, and all the good stuff so hopefully I can make the turn for the better soon.
