Thanks for recommending the Hal Higdon training program. I haven't decided what I am going to do yet as far as training so I was going to start looking at options.

Thanks for adding me to your blogroll. Especially when you're training for a marathon, you should give yourself some "off" days. FWIW, I've always had great luck with Hal Higdon's marathon program (I use the Novice program). Try it out if you're looking to do something different for your next marathon.

Good luck on your quest--I'll be back often! Stop by and visit my blog when you get the chance!

JimJimhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15963095264663210450noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7001874779832700509.post-7018634122028422532008-01-16T13:39:00.000-05:002008-01-16T13:39:00.000-05:002008-01-16T13:39:00.000-05:00Mar,Thanks for stopping by here as well!As you can...Mar,

Thanks for stopping by here as well!

As you can see my blog is really new so I am loving the attention I am getting. :)

I am going to try to run more often I am just a bit hesitant since I hurt myself one time when I ran too much. Of course that was a long time ago.

I really enjoy my early morning runs. I started those because it is the best time for me to get a run in without affecting anyone else in the family. The original start was when I was so overweight, I just started walking and I didn't want everyone to drive by and talk about that fat man needing to walk a little bit more :) That is no longer a concern of mine though thankfully. :)

Yea, it is a bit chilly here, I am sure those grocery stores are going to be packed! Tomorrow morning is a running morning, I am kinda looking forward to running in this - as long as it is still not sleeting! But, I just heard that there is going to be no accumulation here.

Thanks again and happy tapering!Tim Wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09172993341866649612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7001874779832700509.post-23662461810578796422008-01-16T10:20:00.000-05:002008-01-16T10:20:00.000-05:002008-01-16T10:20:00.000-05:00Hey Tim! Congrats to you on your weight loss!!

I'm with Rick (which seems to be the case a lot when he offers advice). Listen to your own body. I try to run 6 days a week but I don't always get it in. Usually by the 5th running day I'm either really anxious to get out and run or I'm completely annoyed and don't want to do it:) So I just listen to what my body/mind is telling me and go from there.

5 am?! I can't imagine running that early. I'm just getting my first cup coffee together at that hour:)

Are you ready for the winter weather we're about to get? I think the entire upstate of SC is going to curl up in a ball and hibernate through it. Stay away from the grocery stores today!

Good luck with your training. I've got 2 weeks until taper time and I'm really looking forward to it:)Marhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08164827091231545536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7001874779832700509.post-68935043328552593512008-01-16T10:16:00.000-05:002008-01-16T10:16:00.000-05:002008-01-16T10:16:00.000-05:00Thanks Rick for the words of wisdom! I probably read too much :) I am always ready to try new things, I just always seem to have a goal on the horizon that I don't want to mess up.

Take Care,

TimTim Wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09172993341866649612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7001874779832700509.post-70310597972881587002008-01-16T09:34:00.000-05:002008-01-16T09:34:00.000-05:002008-01-16T09:34:00.000-05:00Hey Tim! You're doing awesome my running friend!

The whole gammit of running rules and "do's and don't's" I take lightly. I have tried different things in following some of this advice, but the bottom line is, do what you feel comfortable with and what your body will allow you. If you want to run easy 5 days during the week and then a long run on the weekend, try it. Obviously maybe cut back your mileage initially for each individual run. See how your body responds. If the response is negative, cut back, if not, keep at it and see what you can do from there. It's all common sense I think and having a healthy fear of injuring yourself which will hopefully prevent one from overdoing it.

GREAT job on the weight loss and the progress in your running! Keep it up and rock that HM!Rickhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04034531091253691652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7001874779832700509.post-17528012418099609392008-01-16T06:18:00.000-05:002008-01-16T06:18:00.000-05:002008-01-16T06:18:00.000-05:00Thanks Jason!Yea, water water water. I have been following your blog and see your water consumption is going good, keep it up!

Sleep on the other hand is something I feel like I am getting plenty of, but I do know that I may not get a lot at about 6 hours/night. I constantly listen to my body to tell me if I need more, and always do some catchup on the weekend :)

Thanks for stopping by!Tim Wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09172993341866649612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7001874779832700509.post-46684470128858978222008-01-16T05:42:00.000-05:002008-01-16T05:42:00.000-05:002008-01-16T05:42:00.000-05:00Tim, you are looking great there, buddy. Besides that I can't wait to hear how you burned that HM course up.mrjwhit~http://www.blogger.com/profile/17988776453647690322noreply@blogger.com
