Hi, I just stumbled across your blog, and it's great! I also was overweight and lost a lot of weight through running. I just discovered my love for races, though, this past September and just finished my first marathon (Disney World) in January! Congrats on your accomplishments!

Shoe changes drive me nuts also! I can usually get close to 400 miles out of a pair before I retire them.

it's never fun when they discontinue shoes, but i heard someone say recently that it's good for you to change every now and then - i guess slight changes in shoes help keep your feet muscles from getting complacent? (i don't really know, as you can obviously tell) :)

I'm impressed you can get 500 miles out of one pair of shoes. At my weight, 300 miles seems to be the max. Love the Mizuno Creations & Waves.
