I just came across this today when I was googling around after I too completely my first 20 mile run. I am sure that the marathon you did after this made this run pale in comparison.....but I suspect you'll never forget this 20 miler, just as much as you'll never forget the marathon you did after this. Just to encourage you. I recently spent an afternoon reading through your old blog posts and it helped to encourage me to take on the marathon challenge, to build my miles.
Remember where you started and what you have gained along the way. It goes well beyond the physical change.

Man this girl is crazy awesome.... she went out with two of us who were running 12 and said she would try to keep up in case she won the entry - did her 12 and NOW SHE WON!!!! Ahhh...about to embark on that journey. But hopefully not for too long. Tore my meniscus somehow (running- thought i had warmed up enough). I hear the recovery period is quick but i put my bike inside to keep in shape. We'll see...

Ok, I know others can best my story! But I am proud of the 40lbs I've dropped since becoming a more serious runner. I'm, um, hitting my stride right now as I am learning to train my body the right way, as well as eating better. I would love a chance to test myself at the GA Marathon. Not to play dirty pool, but this giveaway would be especially meaningful to me as I was "downsized" several months ago, and I am still looking! Running has helped me stay mentally tough to keep strong and knowing that a great opportunity is headed my way!
