Your race report reminded me of something I just read this morning: Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. " (James 1:12). You sure did persevere and that's what competition is all about. Way to go. I don't have any friends running the marathon with me this weekend. With the fee comes a free lunch at the awards ceremony, but I passed it up because I don't know anyone personally. :( Ah well. At least we both can tuck another distance run under our belts, no!

Yay for you!! Especially the run/walk pace group that walked as a pack taking up the FULL WIDTH OF ROAD in most places. Don't get me wrong, I totally support the run/walk community... Just don't appreciate this particular group's thoughtlessness that blocked runners from passing during their walk. I ran more on sidewalks and grass
than on the actual course. It was way too crowded.
Won't be running this race again unless they adopt a
wave start approach.

Hope you recover quickly!Samhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17348458638360478873noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7001874779832700509.post-3681273367028996422011-03-22T21:33:41.007-04:002011-03-22T21:33:41.007-04:00Thanks Kerrie! Usually the races I run are a little smaller and more local so I know more people. It could have been a little bit of me too since I didn't want to answer the question about the full marathon bib again... I felt like people were thinking that I just gave up instead of making the choice earlier because of injury.Tim Wilsonhttp://blog.262quest.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7001874779832700509.post-19951972279670400302011-03-22T21:31:10.958-04:002011-03-22T21:31:10.958-04:00Thanks David! It was my very first half and I hadn't really met anyone in the racing community yet and told my husband to stay home with our young son -- too cold and crowded. I got done and felt so down. I'd expected to feel so happy, but that didn't happen.

Luckily, that hasn't happened since then because now I have lots of racing friends thanks to the blogging community.

Don't get so down on your time -- you're not 100%! I only think you should be allowed to judge yourself based on whether or not you are 100%. So there. :)Kerrienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7001874779832700509.post-77769119117557707892011-03-22T11:22:57.899-04:002011-03-22T11:22:57.899-04:008:53 pace?
