Up till 2 weeks ago I was listening on every run and now I've stopped. My first long run without was harder and I think it was because of not having the music and just my thoughts.Christinahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02527827359630897863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7001874779832700509.post-53175385442793073962011-03-16T14:52:08.479-04:002011-03-16T14:52:08.479-04:00Thanks for the comments. When I run in high traffic areas or early in the morning or late at night I run with only one ear pod in. That way I can hear all that is going on around me as well. This usually doesn't cause any issue when I am listening to spoken word because early in the morning means really early to me and not many cars are out and about in our area.Tim Wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09172993341866649612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7001874779832700509.post-60359903144566709432010-02-02T17:51:10.896-05:002010-02-02T17:51:10.896-05:00Thanks for the comments. Had to comment on this post: I used to NEVER listen to anything, but I bought the Nike Plus doohickey for my Ipod Nano, and it does seem to help. I like the audio updates of pace and such, but even then, it is much safer to listen to some sort of spoken word, because you can still hear traffic!Derek Allenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09943965126177848729noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7001874779832700509.post-7923281264540937742010-02-02T08:43:29.152-05:002010-02-02T08:43:29.152-05:00I am both. For my tempo/interval/hill workouts and races, I no longer listen to my iPod, mostly for the reasons you mentioned. I also leave it at home during any dark (early morning or night) runs.Colin Hayeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17748487053513730467noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7001874779832700509.post-1658538480502973492010-01-30T20:50:27.172-05:002010-01-30T20:50:27.172-05:00I do understand Beth.
