If you were not able to secure your spot to run the Georgia Marathon in one of the past giveaways you have another chance. With the Publix Georgia Marathon just 2 months away on March 18th I hope you are already training if you want to run the 26.2 miles, but if not this entry will also work if you are more of the half marathon type.
The US Road Sports group has offered yet another lucky runner the opportunity to run the marathon or half marathon for the highly discounted rate of $0. All you need to do is provide the training and transportation which is the easy part right?
Do you want to leave nothing to chance and make sure you have your entry set? If so, while you head over to the Publix Georgia Marathon Registration make sure you don’t forget to use the $10 discount code: 262QUEST. This code is good for $10 off either the full or half marathon.
The Giveaway:One lucky winner will be given the opportunity to run the Publix Georgia Marathon on March 18th, 2012 for free. Entries will be taken until January 31st with the winner announced shortly after.
How To Enter:
- Leave a comment and tell us about your marathon experience (or lack there of) and why running the Publix Georgia Marathon will change your life forever.
- Share the opportunity with everyone you know. You know the drill, share with all those social media tools, your blog, and at your running club, but don’t stop there! (leave a comment for each way you share because each comment will count as an additional entry)
- Join the Publix Georgia Marathon Fanpage, follow on Twitter at @GeorgiaMarathon and leave a comment for each of these as well.
After running my first solo marathon in 3:44 without any specific training, I realized if I took my training seriously I could really put in a great time. I want to blow that PR out of the water at the Publix Georgia Marathon.

ReplyDeleteI've finished 3 marathons and a couple of ultras, but I have yet to complete a road marathon that I've considered "successful." Something always goes wrong for me. Would love to have another crack at one!

ReplyDeleteI would really like my eight half marathon to be in Georgia and have a time of 2:30
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this entry. I helped a friend train for a Fall marathon but due to other commitments I couldn't run with her. I have continued to train but haven't gotten the nerve up to sign up for a Spring marathon. This would be the push I need to go have my day of 26.2!
ReplyDeleteRunning my second marathon this weekend and my third next month. I started running last year, and after my first marathon in November I am totally hooked and feel healthier than I have ever been! With four kidlets, it's hard to fit in training, but the feeling at the finish is totally worth the training hours. And I would love to run a race close to home (Birmingham)!

ReplyDeleteI would love to make Georgia my 3rd half-marathon (or my 1st full)! I've seen the inside of the Atlanta airport, but have never made it into the city. What better way to see it than running the streets?!?
ReplyDeleteNeed to get the state of GA off my list for a full marathon in my quest to do 50 states
ReplyDeleteI said after my first marathon in November it may be my first and last.... I made a good time that I was proud of - but just didn't feel like the marathoning type. I think part of me was too afraid to make a worse time on my 2nd marathon. But right now I'm feeling spunky. I'm feeling like I may attempt the MARATHON again in March (um, if I win). I'm still kinda trained up from November and I think this will be exactly what I need to get my rear back in gear!!! And you know what??? I pretty much EXPECT to not make a PR and I'm perfectly ok with that- sometimes its just all about the experience and having fun not beating yourself to death.

ReplyDeleteMy goal is to finish my first marathon this calendar year. Since finishing cancer treatment, I have been working on getting into the best shape of my life. I completed my first triathlon 1 1/2 years ago, first half marathon 14 months ago, and enjoying every minute of training!
ReplyDeleteI posted the page to my facebook page.

ReplyDeleteI "ran" the Niagara Falls International Marathon...crossed the line 12 seconds before the event official ended (dead last). I also "ran" the Virginia Beach Shamrock Marathon... I did train more for this...yet I added about a half hour to my time! Other than that I have walked 6 marathons for cancer fundraising in Boston. I want so bad to redeem myself, I want to beat my Niagara time! I want another chance to cross the finish line, and look a little less pathetic ! I want to do a marathon without being offered a ride by the saggin wagon!
ReplyDeleteI was supposed to race the Georgia Marathon last year in 2011, but things don't always go as planned. In July 2010, we found I was pregnant. My doctor gave me his blessing to continue running and to run the Georgia Marathon too! I was stoked! Fast forward to March 2011. My pregnancy wasn't going as planned, despite the fact that I continued running throughout. I was placed on bedrest shortly before the marathon, meaning I couldn't run the race. :( You can imagine my disappointment. I wanted to run it this year; however, I had to resign from my job to care for our son and his medical needs. I would still LOVE to run the race and am crossing my fingers. Hopefully it will happen this year. If not, then hopefully I'll find employment to run it next year.

ReplyDeleteSo that's 5 more entries, right?!?!?! :D
can't wait to hear who gets this amazing deal!
ReplyDeleteI've run 6 marathons, including two Bostons. All were before having my daughter almost 3 years ago. I've stuck with half marathons since then. I thought it would be impossible to train for a full until she was old enough to make herself a sandwich and stay home for a few goes alone while Inwas out running, lol.
ReplyDeleteI still think it's impossible to train for a full wih a toddler, but that's what make me want to do it even more! I have plenty of base mileage and would love the challenge of preparing for the the Publix GA FULL Marathon over te next few weeks. I've done the half the last two years and the course and crowd energy are great. Love his homeown race.

ReplyDeleteI still think it's impossible to train for a full with a toddler, which is why I want to try it even more! I'm up for the challenge. It'll mean a lot of miles pushing the jogging stroller, but this is a great hometown race. I've done the half the past two years and the course and crowd energy can't be beat.

ReplyDeleteThree ways running Publix will change me forever. 1) I've never run in Georgia. 2) I've never shopped at Publix but have a lot of coupons. 3) I need to increase my miles by a lot.
ReplyDeleteRunning has helped me to quit smoking and relax. Running has also brought some awesome people in my life that are great supporters and great running partners. This race is important to me because I wasn’t able to do it last year because I had another event the weekend before and wasn’t trained to the point to where I could do two that close together. However, I have trained hard and since I have completed 4 half marathons and 1 full marathon and I am ready to do the Publix full. Unfortunately, the timing is once again bad because I just had to pay $2500 in tuition and now can’t afford the entry fee and therefore without this free registration I won’t be able to do this again this year.
ReplyDeleteThis would also be the first time that my complete family would be able to come out and watch me run and it would mean so much to be able to do a race an have my family be able to come out to support me and to be at different spots along the course. I've done events with Team in Training and having them out there is great, but nothing beats having your family there for you.
ReplyDeleteI really hope to run the Ga Half with a PR of 1:45. Please help me get there!!!

ReplyDeleteOn April, 15 2011 I ran my first 5k weighing 400 lbs, in November I ran my first half marathon weighing 265 lbs, today I weigh 230 lbs and am still living the lifestyle of a healthy person. I wanted to run the Callaway full marathon last weekend, but life got in the way. I put in the work and just could work it into my schedule at the time because of family issues. Running the Georgia Marathon would be an incredible opportunity, it marks almost one full year since I started running and I'm hoping to have lost 200 lbs in year by then. Running has changed my life and my families and I hope to encourage others who struggle with losing weight to follow suite and live healthy.

ReplyDeleteHacked my wife's Facebook and shared... I'm trying to get creative, cause this would really mean a lot to me!
ReplyDeleteOk, I know others can best my story! But I am proud of the 40lbs I've dropped since becoming a more serious runner. I'm, um, hitting my stride right now as I am learning to train my body the right way, as well as eating better. I would love a chance to test myself at the GA Marathon. Not to play dirty pool, but this giveaway would be especially meaningful to me as I was "downsized" several months ago, and I am still looking! Running has helped me stay mentally tough to keep strong and knowing that a great opportunity is headed my way!
ReplyDeleteEmailed my co-workers who run and shared the link :)

ReplyDeleteCurious too, but I'm claiming it and amped up my runs this week, lol. It's a win win cause I'm running more :) Hope all is okay Tim, I know you've been struggling with your injury.
