What is your favorite running related website(s) or blog(s)?
Now, I am sure you will all start out with blog.262quest.com, so we will get that out of the way and just assume that is everyone's favorite. I am sure that it is the feed with the most stars in everyones Google Reader. :)
Do you have a specific running blog that is a hidden gem? Do you have an obscure, or maybe not so obscure website that you visit frequently, if not daily?
Let's see what kind of a list we can get going..... and don't forget to plug your own blog!
Tim Wilson - blog.262quest.com
Hands down... this one, Tim! (I am SUCH a suck up!)
ReplyDeleteHope you are well and nearly healed dude.
Feet Meet Street Nitmos is the man. He's just hysterical. And wrong. And funny. And wrong.
ReplyDeleteRunner's Lounge Amy and Tom do some great work at Runner's Lounge, and their blog is a fantastic, community-friendly example of what good sites can be.
Internal Pigdog Brian is a much better runner than I'll ever be, and it's enlightening to hear what he shares.
Run Bulldog Run Steve is awesome. He's always got something interesting going on.
Cranky Fitness While not a "running blog" per se, is still fitness-oriented and very entertaining. Crabby McSlacker and crew do good work.
Inside Nike Running Sure, it's a giant corporate, but they have some nice features and posts.
Runner's World Daily Frequently funny and interesting, Runner's World's blog is in my top 10.
Swim. Bike. Run. Race A very humble, unassuming triathlete blog, I started following it because his unbridled enthusiasm for running in San Francisco (my current city of residence).
Who is Runner Girl? Oh to be young and drunk again. A frequently funny, frequently off-topic running blog, it speaks to my inner lush.
Between the Miles There's something about Kara's blog that's so inviting. She seems to be a very cool person.
And, of course, there's Hella Sound, a site near and dear to my heart ;)
I was called on it on twitter, so I figured I better add a couple:
ReplyDeleteSome of my favorites are the blogs I frequent which are listed on my blog in the blogroll. I also have found myself really enjoying:
Running Ahead To log all my runs.
Runners World I forget this because I usually just follow links in e-mails I receive from them.
Some of my favorite blogs are these because they have been some of my best online friends:
Rick - Running for Cassy
Mar - Shut it and Run
Mike - Sub6
Cory - See Cory Run
And of course John at Hella Sound who has become one of my biggest promoters on Twitter.
Thanks John!
I am sure I am forgetting one or two, I will come back and add them when I remember.
I really enjoy Frayed Laces She's a running starting to do some triathlons, lives in Hawaii and is a graduate student studying whale communications. Overall an interesting and fun read.
ReplyDeleteI also enjoy Notes from a Non-Runner as I appreciate her struggle. She also organizes virtual races, so this month there's a "8 on the 8th", a 8 mile race run and we all post results online. There's prizes, kudos, etc.
And this one! Of course!
I follow a lot of blogs by local runners in my area that I'm friends with, but for more mass appeal I'm a fan of Complete Running and of course Run to Win.
ReplyDeleteHi, Your list is looking awesome so far. Need to go read those. I haven't seen too many that I really enjoy reading except this one. http://faster-running.com/
ReplyDeleteAlso, I read www.fitarella.com.
And mine: www.fitnessformommies.net. I write for the athlete more than the mom!
Jog-Blog and J-Money generally leave me laughing hard enough to worry about getting fired.
ReplyDeleteMine features reviews of things useful for the well-endowed female runner.
I read a few, but mainly I stick with Run to Win as a regular read. I will have to dig through some of these suggestions to see others I might be interested in.
ReplyDeleteThanks everybody for stopping by and giving us your links. I will be checking these all out (the ones I haven't already) shortly.
ReplyDeleteHey, if you are on twitter and haven't yet, why not stop by my latest post and add your twitter account. I have had a few already, but more would always be welcome. Also, twitter it up and lets see how many twittering runners we can get on the list.
http://blog.262quest.com
Gee, thanks, Tim, for the mention. Aw shucks, that's awfully nice of you!
ReplyDeleteI've stumbled your blog (Yay!), & will supply a list of my favorite sites as well. Many of them have already been mentioned below, (including several of the blogs already listed here, which are already on my blogroll!), but I'll add some new ones to the list:
Runner+
Nike+
Pre-Race Checklist Generator (Thanks, Blaine! I use this all the time; it's awesome!)
Here are some other blogs I enjoy, that haven't yet been mentioned here:
Abi's Couch to 5K A hilarious & heartfelt blog & blogger. Abi will have your rolling in the aisles, & hanging onto your seats! This gal is endlessly interesting & amusing; you never know what she's going to do or say next. She got that perfect combination of a great personality & a winning writing style. And she's one of my best blogger buds. ;-)
Andrew is Getting Fit This guy just continues to amaze me! Plus, he always has something interesting to say.
Dane Runs A Lot This guy has a big heart & the brains to match. He's done some pretty amazing things, including running 52 marathons in 52 weeks to raise money for charity.
Stubborn Running Eric is just a great guy, (& is one of the friendliest, nicest bloggers I know!) & those of you who know him will most certainly agree! ;-)
The MS Runner What can I say about Dave that I haven't already said many times before in my blog? He's nice, he's funny, & his blog's damn good read.
And to all of the other blogger pals from the running community I see here (Blaine, John, etc.), hello there! ;-)
And I'm sure that our pal Cymrusteve will probably be checking in here at some point, too. So hello there to you too! ;-)
Hey - thanks for the post. I am really embarrassed now that I forgot a couple of those. Two of those:

No worries Tim.. How's that go "interesting content, better engagement"? No, I get by on the nice guy thing anyway.
ReplyDeleteI read a lot of the one's mentioned, but noticeably absent was Half Fast. Along with Nitmos over at Feet Meet Street, quite possibly the funniest read out there. I highly recommend it.

ReplyDeleteChuck (barefoot runner)
