Following a 1 mile run yesterday morning I felt really good, so this morning I decided and planned on doing a two miler. Things were going really good with a sub 10 minute mile for the first mile and I was able to maintain it through the beginning of the second mile.
Shortly into the second mile my collar bone started to pop a bit more than I wanted it to so I decided to cut it short at the 1 1/2 mile mark. I will get there, being patient is key right now.

It's hard being patient. Good on you for showing some sense.
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you, dude! Hang in there and, remain patient, patient.
ReplyDeleteShirley you can't be serious. Yes, I am serious and... don't call me Shirley.
Ok, a moment of nincompoopedness spurred by the patient, patient comment.
Awesome! I know stopping early might have felt like not making it, but really you accomplished several important things. You pushed yourself to new limits and you listened to your body when it needed to stop. Both are important accomplishments! Keep it up... Wm
ReplyDeleteThanks guys for stopping by and the comments.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to stop when I want to keep going, but it will pay off in the end.
Tim, You are running again, and running consistently! You have what it takes inside, and your body will cooperate if you take it slowly. Great job!! --Alex (aka run350)

ReplyDeleteGood stuff Tim. If I remember correctly from my collarbone break, it was just a matter of not overdoing it. Trust me, it will be crazy sore the day you decide to over do it. But, you're well on your way...
